Building a Shelter from Ground Sheets  .........

Keeping yourself sheltered is one of the most important aspect of wilderness and jungle survival. In the wild, you will most probably need a shelter over the head to shield from the weather elements. There are several ways to build a shelter. In the previous article we talked about building a bush hut. In this article, we will learn to construct a shelter using groundsheets. This method is commonly used by infantry soldiers for jungle survival.

Belows are some basic components for building the shelter:

1. 2 Ground sheets

2. 6 or more cloth pegs

3. 4 ground pegs

4. Nylon Ropes

 

The following are the instructions for building the shelter:

1. Find to tree and tie the rope between them.

2. Put the first groundsheet over the rope.

3. Made measure and force the four ground pegs into the ground.

4. Tie nylon rope from the corners of the groundsheet to the 4 pegs

5. Lay the other groundsheet underneath the first ground sheet.

6. Secure the 2 groundsheets using the cloth pegs
