Photography is an interesting hobby. The following are some free software that can be used to enhanced one's photographic images. They can be downloaded easily and freely from the internet.

1. Photomatix Basic

The latest digital technology in photography enhancement is HDRI or High Dynamic Range Imaging. HDRI presents new and exciting possibilities to photographer because it can produce images that is truer to the way humans see. It can produce very stunning and richly textured imageries.

Photomatix Basic is a free program that is designwith HDRI in mind. This software enables the creation of High Dynamic Range Images from 2 photos of the same scenario that is taken with different parameters.

2. UFRAW

RAW files is the professional file format that is used by serious hobbyists and professionals. It has advantages over the more commonly used JPEG.

UFRAW is a free utilty that can be used to edit RAW files generated by digital cameras.

3. CleanSkin FX

In Portrait photography, the main focus of the picture should be the person. We try to put the subject in the most attractive and apealing light. CleanSkin FX is a free software that can make human skin appears clean, even and attractive. Basically, it uses some kind of denoising technology to smoothen the look of portrait subjects, making them appear more perfect.

4. Paint.NET

This is a general photo editing tool that is for Microsoft Windows. It is similar in layout to Photoshop and even sport layer functions. To use this program, MS .NET framework must be installed.
