This article shows how the toilet seat can be replaced. The tips and instructions are presented below:

Underneath the rim of the toilet base are 2 nuts that holds the seat to the base. The nuts are each on one side of the base. We will need to unscrew the nuts.

Sometimes, the nuts are quite firmly attached to the base, making the unscrewing very difficult. If that is the case, spray some lubricanting oil around the seams of the nuts and wait for a couple of minutes.

Try unscrewing again. If it is still hard, you may want to use a rachet or adjustable wrench.

Once they are unscrewed, pull the old bolts out. After this, you can now remove the toilet seat. The picture below show a toilet base(bowl) with the toilet seat being removes. 

Put the new seat in place. Make sure that the bolts of the new seat is inserted through the holes on the toilet base. 

Place the washers up the bolts and screw the nuts to secure the new seat to the toilet base. Please screw with care as the toilet seat can be easily damaged by over tightening.
