Ketchup is nice on the tastebuds but not so nice on the clothes. It is better to get rid of the ketchup stain as soon as possible. The reason is that the longer they stay on the fabric, the harder it is to get rid of them. 

The followings are some steps for removing ketchup stain from fabrics or clothes. 

1. Scrap away as much of the solid ketchup as possible. 

2. Sponge the area with water before soaking the fabric for at least an hour. In the case of old and dried stain, soak the fabric overnight.

3. Blot the stained spot using clear dishwashing liquid that is being mixed in a cup of water. 

4. Wash the fabric in the warmest water that is allowable for the fabric type.

5. If the stain remains, mix a solution of ammonia (1 tsp) with 1/2 cup of water. Apply the mixture on the stained spot and wash again.
