It is advisable to remove the ink stain as soon as possible. This is because the longer they stay the harder it is to remove them. The followings are step by step instructions for removing fountain pen ink stain from fabrics or clothes. 

1. Wash away the ink as much as possible using cool running water.

2. Blot the stained spot using ammonia. Continue to rinse with cool water.

3. Soak up the remaining stain using a sponge. Sponge it with a mixture of 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid in one bowl of warm water.

4. Launder the item in warm water.

For the case of old and dried stain, soak the fabric overnight in a solution of ammonia (half cup) in water (2 litres). After that, sending it for warm water laundering.
