Necessities for wilderness travel


Travelling in the wilderness is not the same as walking in the urban street. The wilderness can be a very strange and alien environment to an urban human being.

To survive in the wilderness, there are four basic necessities. They are Water, food, fire and shelter. Many military and infantry trained persons will know about this fact.

We must find ways to obtain these four necessities.

Water is a very important element. We need to drink water to hydrate our self. Also the water must be make drinkable. Having portable water filters to treat the water is very important. Also, we must find ways to store the treated water. It should be noted that a portable water filter is not the same as a pool and spa water filter.

Food is also important. Although we can last longer without food than water.

We need fire to warm ourself, especially in the cold weather. Fire also helps in illumination.

A Shelters shield us from the elements such as rain and hot sun.

Well, these are the fundamentals for wilderness travel. To travel well, we must plan for these necessities. Otherwise, the trip can turn out to be not as expected!
